Dessert gravy and other yums
it’s not a holiday season without some sweet sauce
I could never be full vegan, because I love gravy too much. Oh, and soups. Which, yes, you could make both of those without a meat broth, but… is it the same? Me thinks not.
For this butter thief, we’re talking SWEET gravy - think caramel, fruit, toffee - that you can pour over biscuits and cheesecakes but also stir into your favorite hot chocolates or *yuck* coffees.
As well as other deliciousness that makes for great treats to share, or keep all to yourself (I see you, and I respect you).
GOLDEN GOODIES
This might be controversial, but I’d take a vat of toffee sauce over caramel anyyyy day. It’s got salty-sweet magic down pat, and this recipe is so easy to make.
1 pot + 4 ingredients + 10 minutes
Of course, I had to turn one of my favorite holiday (or lbh year-round) nibbles into cheesecake form. Because if any season is cheesecake season, it’s right now, baby.
We’re turning the classic club cracker base into our buttery crust, topped with a creamy vanilla cheesecake, chocolate ganache, and the healthiest of pours of that homemade toffee sauce.
We all know and love a chocolate chip cookie. But what about a MINT chocolate chip cookie?
Now I don’t love an overwhelming mint vibe, so these have just enough of a hit of freshness to make you go “oh!” while also making your breath smell delightful when you talk to that cutie at the holiday party, okkkkkk.
Leftovers are always a good idea in my book, but sometimes they need a little sprucing (<did you catch that seasonal punnery?).
Easily turn your leftover roast chicken/beef/vegetables into these cozy chicken hand pies, with the hack of the not-fancy-but-feels-fancy season: store-bought puff pastry.
Not one mint chocolate bake but two (except this is a no-bake dessert). One of my mom’s friends says she makes these to keep in her fridge for a nightly treat, and I just love that.
It’s kind of like if a Thin Mint and a York Peppermint Patty had a baby. Oreo, mint, some cream cheese, and chocolate for the win!
